Invest…Above the Noise.

It’s not about access to information.  It’s about what you do with it.  From mass media to comments by friends, acquaintances and professionals, fast access to a flood of information and ideas creates a perplexing task for making sound and comfortable investment decisions.  Success in the market depends on the ability to assimilate the abundance of news and data to define what really matters, and having the confidence to take action.  These skills require many years of market experience.  There are many distractions which can lead you in the wrong direction. Execution with a clear vision is crucial for producing above-average returns.

Invest….Beyond a Generic or Packaged Solution.

Allocation and diversification are important.  However, do these concepts alone produce desired returns?  An obsession with managing risk has led to an oversimplified approach of spreading money over 1000s of companies (stocks and bonds) around the globe to construct a portfolio.  When investing for future return, does it make the most sense to own a little bit of everything?  Relative outperformance requires more effort in evaluating and identifying areas of fundamental strength.  Not all countries, industries and companies perform at the same level.  And, conditions and dominance change.  A relentless focus on identifying, monitoring and investing in leading companies at appropriate prices provides opportunity to outperform the average.
