DAVID E. PISTOR
For 30 years, I have helped my clients navigate a volatile market as an engaged “hands on” investment professional. I have been responsible for over $50 million in client assets satisfying various objectives ranging from aggressive growth with concentrated stock portfolios to conservative income generation with tax free municipal bonds. Licensed in 1994 after graduating with a B.S. in Finance from the University of Oregon, I became an adviser at Strand, Atkinson, Williams and York, Inc. and was honored as Vice President and top producer in 2000. Mentored by my father, a 44-year industry veteran, I developed a unique skill set and passion for assessing individual stocks. With a tactical approach, I am a purist in believing that strong performance comes from investing in the right securities at the right time. My active management style has garnered a great deal of expertise in understanding what makes investments work. Over the years, I have become familiar with many public companies through intense research giving me the aptitude to notice changes in business fundamentals and the confidence to act quickly. There is no substitute for the experience generated from managing client dollars in your own recommendations versus outsourcing the responsibility. Throughout my career, I have strived to understand and assess the multitude of strategies packaged and promoted by the industry and academia to provide my clients with a balanced and prudent approach to broader portfolio management. I operate with respect for the standards but strive to add value by exercising foresight and implementing innovative approaches. Upon attaining my CFP® certification in 2006, I interact more intimately with clients in understanding their financial situation so strategic direction and ongoing management are more closely aligned with goals. My passion is for providing an enthusiastic and ethical level of service with above average returns. I am thankful for the kindness and trust my clients have extended over the years.
I founded Flight Capital in February 2010 to provide a platform from which I can more effectively utilize my skill and experience to serve my clients. Discretionary, fee based management allows me to act quickly and equitably for all clients when making decisions which I believe are in their best interest. Flexibility and speed of implementation in portfolio management have become critical for navigating an increasingly volatile market. Clients depend on me to add value by making adjustments in a dynamic environment.
